Bonnyville Opts for the Sask-Alta League

NCHL

In a letter received by the NCHL executive on June 6th from Dennis Germain, Director for the Bonnyville Pontiacs, he informed that club has decided to move away from the NCHL and play in the Sask-Alta League in 2025-2026.

"Our Board of Directors has had many post-season discussions regarding the sustainability of out team and that has led to a decision to explore alternatives, including the Sask-Alta League. The Sask-Alta has recently approved our application for membership for the 2025-2026 season and the Board decided that was the best way forward to insure the viability of our organization".

"Our furthest trip in the Sask-Alta will still be closer that our nearest rival in the NCHL".

The Pontiacs joined the NCHL with 3 other clubs from the Battle River League when it folded back in 2015.
