NCHL Adds a New Team for 2025-26 Season

NCHL Adds a New Team for 2025-26 Season

NCHL

The NCHL is very happy to announce that the Round Lake Bears will join the league for the upcoming 2025-26 hockey season. The Bears will be playing out of the Enoch Community Centre. This addition brings our memberhsip to 10 teams.
Other news to come out of the AGM - President Jerry Muise has stepped down and was replaced by former Vice President Trish Rizko. Darcie Brady was elected Vice President.

The regular season is scheduled to begin on October 4th and each team will play an 18 game balanced schedule. Playoffs will commence on February 6th with the top 8 teams qualifying. Quarterfinal round will be a best of 5 with the Semi-finals and Vanberg Cup finals series both a best of 7.  A decision regarding  participation in the Provincial Championships was deferred until the fall meeting when hopefully we have more information from Hockey Alberta.

The scheduling meeting has been set for July 6th (11:00) in Nisku.

The league's fall meeting is set for September 7th (10:00) in Devon.

In other league news, the Wetaskiwin Longhorns made some changes to their management staff announcing Kris Lindberg as their new President and Rob Wallace as their Manager for the upcoming season.

The league presented their annual awards banners to Lacombe Generals (President's Cup) and Innisfail Eagles (Vanberg Cup)
