| NCHL Welcomes New Team from Wetaskiwin |

 The NCHL is very happy to announce a new team for the upcoming 2023-24 hockey season. The Wetaskiwin Longhorns have been accepted into the league after a special meeting was called after the League's AGM was held in May. As mentioned earlier, there were two groups from Camrose who made presentations to the League's Board of Directors at the AGM. As previously announced, the Camrose Sport Development Society (Camrose Bruins) were the group voted into the league at that time. The other Camrose group, headed by Gord Bamford, asked the league to consider his request to start a team in Wetaskiwin. As then President Jerry Muise stated at the Special Meeting - "both of the groups that presented applications to join the league at the AGM were very well prepared and if the requests had come from individual communities, they would have both been a slam dunk to be accepted".  The Longhorns will join the South Division of the NCHL and be grouped with Camrose, Lacombe and Red Deer. The North Division is made up of Bonnyville, Morinville, Westlock and Devon.
