NCHL Elects New President
Tuesday, May 9, 2023 - Submitted by the NCHL

NCHL President Sam Maupin

The Board of Directors of the NCHL elected a new President at their AGM on May 6th to replace outgoing President Jerry Muise.  Long time Vice President Sam Maupin becomes the 4th President of the NCHL and the league's first female leader.

Sam has been involved with senior hockey since the mid 2000's when she got involved with the Rocky Mountain House Rams of the Chinook League.  She held several titles with the Rams until they changed ownership in 2009.  In 2010, a new ownership group was formed in Rocky Mountain House and Sam was elected President.  She led that group to apply for and receive admission into the NCHL. She took on the General Manager's position as well and stayed in that position until the team folded in 2017. Sam then decided to join the NCHL executive and was elected Vice President under Jerry Muise, and has been the VP since that time and has been a vocal advocate for Senior Hockey with Hockey Alberta. Sam has also been the Vice President of the Ranchland Hockey League for 2 years (2019, 2020) as well as President of the Chinook Hockey League for one year (2022/23).

Congratulations on your election Sam!
