| Generals Punch Their Ticket to the Vanberg Cup Finals |

 The Lacombe Generals are going back to the Vanberg Cup finals for the second season in a row after defeating a stubborn Devon Barons club in 4 games. All of the games in this series were close and the game last night was no exception as the Barons took the Generals to overtime before finally succumbing 5-4. Jamie Johnson (2-1-3) and Cam Maclise (0-3-3) lead the Generals to their win, but it was Tyler Chavez Leech with his first goal of the playoffs in overtime that carried Lacombe to their victory. Eric Deleeuw (2-1-3) lead the way for the Barons
The Generals will now wait to see the outcome of the Red Deer/Camrose series to determine who their opponent in the finals will be. The Rustlers currently lead that series two games to one with game 4 taking place this afternoon in Penhold. Game 5 will be played in Camrose on Tuesday and Game 6 if necessary will be back in Penhold on Saturday, Game 7 if necessary will be in Camrose on Sunday evening. |
