The Camrose Crush have battled back to tie the Vanberg Cup final series with two home ice wins over visiting Lacombe Generals last weekend, 9-4 on Friday, and an exciting 3-2 double overtime win on Saturday.

Saturday's game turned out to be the Dillan McCombie show as the talented winger had a big night with 4 goals and 3 assists to help the Crush dismantle the Generals. Camrose was full marks for their win as they dominated pretty much every aspect of the game. For the first time this season, General's goaltender Mac Engel was pulled after allowing the 9th goal. Also having a big night for the Crush were Brett Njaa with 5 assists, RJ Reed with 2 goals and 2 helpers, and defensemen Dayton Murray, who chipped in with a goal and a couple of assists. Of note, the crowd in the Max McLean arena was in the 1200 range, which is unofficially the largest crowd to witness an NCHL game.
Sunday's game was a far different affair, as both goaltenders took over. Lacombe took the early lead only to have Camrose tie it at 2 in the third period. The first overtime settled nothing so the teams set in on overtime #2. At the 11:00 mark, Camrose's long time forward, Brad Trautman scored the winner, putting the Crush and Generals to a 5th and deciding game. The crowd in Camrose on Saturday wasn't as large, but was still in the 900 range!
POW for March 27th
1. Dillan McCombie - Camrose Crush

As mentioned above, Dillan picked up 4-3-7 and was named the game's first star on Friday, and then picked up a goal in Saturday's win.. Dillan also put up big numbers in the 2019-20 semi finals series against Red Deer when he scored 2-3-5.
Brett Njaa - Camrose Crush
Brett also had a big weekend, picking up 0-5-5 in Friday's win, and then adding 0-2-2 in Saturdays win. After only playing in 3 regular season games, Brett has come on big in the playoffs, playing in 6 of Camrose's 12 games to date.
Brad Trautman - Camrose Crush
Brad didn't ring up a bunch of points over the weekend (1-1-2), but his goal was the double overtime game winner on Saturday that propelled the Crush into a game 5 showdown.
