The President's Cup winning Lacombe Generals joined second place Camrose Crush in this season's Vanberg Cup finals which will kick off this weekend with two games in Lacombe. Lacombe got there by virtue of their 4-0 win over the hometown Westlock Warriors on Friday to end that semi finals series in four games. Camrose has been sitting idle since their March 5th road win over Red Deer to end that series in four games.
Games one and two will go this weekend in Lacombe, games three and four (if necessary) will be played next weekend in Camrose, and game 5 is scheduled for Lacombe April 1st (if necessary).
Previous versions of these teams met in the 2017-18 Vanberg Cup finals when the 2nd place Daysland Northstars defeated the President's Cup winning Eckville Eagles in 5 games to claim their 3rd straight NCHL title. There are 7 players on Camrose's roster and 6 on Lacombe's roster that remain from that playoff series.
Here are the matchups between the teams.
