The Alberta Senior "AA" Provincial Hockey tournament has been traditionally rotated between the North Central League, Ranchland League, North Peace Hockey League and the Saskalta League.  


2024-2025 Update - Nov 28, 2024 - Hockey Alberta announced in a memo to all Senior AA leagues in the Province that there will be a resumption of the Senior "AA" Provincial Championships this spring  There are currently four active Senior "AA" leagues and the tournament style championship will rotate among them as follows:

2025 - Ranchland Hockey League
2026 - North Peace Hockey League
2027 - North Central Hockey League
2028 - Sask/Alta Hockey League

2024-2025 Update - February 4, 2025 - Hockey Alberta announced today that the Lethbridge Lightning will be the 2025 Provincial host of this spring's tournament which is scheduled for April 3-6, 2025. 


March 23, 2025 - The Innisfail Eagles will represent the NCHL at the Senior AA Provincials. 

March 25, 2025 - Hockey Alberta announced today that the Provincial tournament had been cancelled.  Due to the North Peace and the Sask-Alta leagues backing out, only 3 teams (from 2 leagues) were committed to attend. A meeting is planned for later in the spring with the senior leagues to discuss potential changes to consider going into next season and beyond.
