Players of the Week for Nov 14th
Wednesday, November 17, 2021

Here are my picks for POW for Nov 14th.

1.  Lucas Isley - Bonnyville Pontiacs

Lucas had a productive weekend as he put up 2-2-4 in the Pontiacs first win of the season, 8-2 over the Warriors in Westlock.  He followed that up with 3-0-3 in Sunday's home ice loss to Morinville.  Lucas is currently playing in his 7th season with the Pontiacs.

2.  Devon Cyr - Morinville Kings

Devon led the Kings to their lopsided win over Bonnyville, scoring 4-2-6.  He is currently second in team scoring and tied for second in the league scoring race.  Cyr joined the Kings after spending 3 years playing for the  Kindersley Klippers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

3.  Blake Grainger - Morinville Kings

Blake also had a big afternoon in the Kings romp over Bonnyville as he scored 1-5-6 to boost him to the league lead in scoring.   Grainger was voted the  League's Most Sportsmanlike Player in 2019-20, and is currently playing in his 4th season with the Kings.

Honorable Mentions

Connor Dobberthein - Camrose Crush

Connor backstopped his Crush to a 6-2 home ice win over Red Deer, stopping 49 of 51 shots the Rustlers sent his way.  The score was somewhat deceiving as Red Deer outshot the Crush 51-29, and it was mainly through the outstanding play of Dobberthein that Camrose prevailed.

Kyle Campbell - Fort Saskatchewan Chiefs

Campbell put up 0-4-4 as the Chiefs scored 3 late third period goals to help propel his Chiefs to a  7-4 win over the home town Barons.  This is Kyle's first year in the NCHL after last playing for NAIT in the ACAC.

Congratulations to all for your outstanding efforts!
