   North Central Hockey League:
NCHL Hands Out Service Awards

The NCHL handed out a number of deserving service awards at Sunday's game in Devon prior to the Barons/Crush matchup.

Tony Kulbisky, Devon Baron's Manager, was acknowledged for his 10 years of doing pretty much anything that has been required for the Devon Barons.  Tony has been the Baron's GM since they entered the league after relocating from Legal (Vipers) in 2012.

Devon photographer, Mik Ohkeena was awarded for her hundreds of pictures taken at Devon Barons games for the last 10 years.  Many of Mik's photos are used on this website for player bio pictures and award winners.

Forward Cody Issler was recognized for having played over 100 regular season games in his NCHL career with the Morinville Kings and Devon Barons. Cody is 1 of only 4 active players in the NCHL with over 100 games played!

Trish McFarlane-Rizko, who is the NCHL's Secretary/Treasurer, was recognized for 10 years split between time with the Devon Barons and her time on the Executive.

Sam Maupin, current NCHL Vice President, received an award for her long time dedication to the League.  Sam came into the NCHL as GM of the Rocky Rams in 2010, when they moved over from the Chinook Hockey League.  She held that position until the Rams franchise folded in 2017, at which time she was then elected as Vice President of the league.

Jerry Muise, current NCHL President, was recognized for his long association with the NCHL.  Jerry started off working as a linesman doing NCHL games in 1995 and 1996.  In 1997, Jerry was named the Head Coach of the Hinton Heat, winning the Coach of the Year award in 1998-1999.  When the Onoway Ice Dogs were admitted into the NCHL in 2005, Jerry was named the head coach for their inaugural season.  Jerry was elected as Vice President under then President George Vanberg in 2010, and served as VP until Vanberg's retirement in 2016.  He was then elected as NCHL President in 2016.
